So I live in Washington and my son is going to school in SoCal and I was coming in for a few days over the holidays, and wanted to get him set up with a car while there. I'd called around in advance to the dealerships in a radius and checked on inventory, pricing, etc to ta ckle as much of the car buying experience remotely with the idea that everything was squared away and it would be a low stress sign and drive experience for us. Carson was NOT originally on our list because it was farther away. Our originally selected dealership (in Downtown LA) ended up being a huge disappointment - long story short they did NOT have the car they promised and tried to pressure me into a more expensive model they had on the lot that just stunk of bait-n-switch. Made a flurry of calls and came across Carson - Handled by Jeff who confirmed inventory (even sending pics of the car as it sat on lot for verification it was what we were looking for). Very sympathetic and worked out a great price (waiving costs for add ons I didn't want) and going the above and beyond and stayed late (I arrived at 8:01p although they closed at 8p) to make sure I didn't have to make another 3hr drive the following day after all the wasted time at the other dealership. Felt bad to keep them late, but they handled everything quickly with no pressure and had my son and I out on the road in our new Elantra Hybrid in short order. So disappointed. I purchased 3 cars from this dealer starting 6 and 1/2 years ago. Initially service was great and was very pleased. Over the last couple of years service has greatly declined, mostly due to high employee turnover and shortage of workers. It is such a hassle to even make a simple service appointment. As I write this I am on hold for the second time within 10 minutes where I got forwarded to a recording and ultimately disconnected. And just as I typed that last sentence I got hung up on again. They used to provide shuttle service when getting your car serviced and that's no more. They used to keep you updated on the status of your vehicle as you waited and that's no more. And now it's almost impossible just to make an appointment. I recently had a fantastic experience at Kia Carson with another family vehicle and was even able to make a same day appt, shuttle service to and from the neighborhood mall while the car was serviced, and ability to be notified and pay online so all we had to do was pick the car upon return to the dealer without delay. I will never go back to this dealership. I paid for tire rotation, but they never rotated my tires. They don't do half the things that they charge for. Always check your service receipt and don't ever get all the service they recommend you need. We bought a VW Jetta Trade in from Carson Hyundai today...and couldn't be happier with the experience. Juan, the sales person, and Andrew, the sales manager listened carefully to our needs, met us on all of our expectations (including budget), and even offered to hunt down the (unfortunately missing) VW car manual after the sale was made. I have brought my car here for YEARS to do maintenance and they never told me they were using the cheapest oil “Quaker State“. I was bringing my car here because I thought I was getting the best of the best. The only reason I found out that they were using this oil was b ecause the last time I took my car there they over torqued the oil pug so I had a huge leak. After arguing with them over the situation they still did not take fault so I decided to buy the oil off them so I could do it myself at home but then I saw that they had sold me the cheapest oil known to man. Came here with no appointment and was immediately helped by Alfredo. This was our fourth dealership in two weeks, and by far the best experience. Alfredo was knowledgeable about the cars/features and really spent the extra time making sure he answered all our questions. He l istened to what we said and guided us in the right direction. I have purchased 8 cars in my life, and this has been the BEST car buying experience by far. Let’s begin with that. I reached out to 6 nearby Hyundai dealerships for their best quote on a 2020 Ioniq Electric. I knew that it was an outgoing model and attractive incentives and rebates were available, but I did not want to spend the time demanding every one. Not only did EDGAR CASTELLANOS at Win Hyundai in Carson reach out to me first, he had the best price out of all the other dealers. He then made it completely easy and professional from setting the appointment to test driving the car and signing the contract. He gave me respect and knew I wasn’t there to waste time or talk about things I did not want. He consistently made sure I was comfortable and satisfied while I was waiting for my car. He didn’t try to upsell me or make me feel I was abandoned. It was such a smooth and easy buying experience; I feel like I just got lucky. There’s no way this can happen to every car buyer, right? And as a cherry on top, I got another positive surprise from the financing office right as I was about to drive off the lot. I probably shouldn’t disclose what that was since it’s probably not available on every vehicle, but it was a very good financial incentive that came completely unexpected. To top that off, when I noticed a pin-sized (barely noticeable) scratch on the front bumper, Edgar offered to fix it if I made an appointment and came back.
